Our Purpose

To guide students to become passionate disciples of Jesus Christ.

Through middle and high school, we create a safe place for teens to become personally rooted in a relationship with Jesus, live out an authentic faith in Jesus’ family, and pour out his love to the world. We welcome all, wherever you are on your spiritual journey.

Refuge

for Grades 6 - 12

Refuge is a weekly gathering for teenagers where we play games, goof around, worship through songs, and connect in small groups. This is a safe place for teens to meet and know Jesus and learn what it means to trust and imitate Jesus in their everyday life. Invite friends and join us for Refuge on Wednesday nights throughout the school year.

“Refuge has also been a huge blessing for our son. We wanted him to be connected, involved, and dive into his faith in a meaningful way, and Refuge has been that place for him. Since his first night attending, he hasn't wanted to miss. We are thrilled to know he has other kids his age to explore faith with and other faith-filled adults speaking life into him.”

- Sarah, mom of two

“From one parent to another: this is the place you're looking for. Your kids will be welcomed, they will be heard, and they will see what it is like to love Jesus and be loved by people. For the adults: there is something for you here. We have great worship, groups to join, and ways to serve, but mostly you'll see how Jesus' love is for you, and why that's so important for everything else in your life.”

- Andy, dad of three

“I love to just come and be a part of the big group and hanging out with friends. Before I was getting distracted in a way where I left my faith behind, but then when I came back, I could feel the presence that God had for me. I would say that Refuge is the best place to go and to grow your faith in God.”

- Abigail

“I love the laughter and joy that is guaranteed with every night. Refuge has opened up new serving opportunities and led me to being more confident in sharing my faith and my journey.”

- Libby

“I love that no matter what has been going on all day, I get to come to Refuge and be myself.”

- Brooklyn

“I love coming because it really helps me grow in my faith and I get to see amazing people. I have been coming to this church my whole life and coming to Refuge really helped me make my faith mine.”

- Gabbie

“Refuge changed my life. It took me to a mission trip in the Dominican Republic that opened my heart and life forever. It took me from depression and the worst moments of my life to a new joyful, loving life I'm glad to live.”

- Anthony

“I met my best friend here and we have grown in our faith together.”

- Becca

“I love coming to Refuge because I get to hang out with my friends and learn about my faith. It is something I look forward to every week. Refuge is such a welcoming community and we learn so many new things that strengthen my faith.”

- Eva

“Being part of Refuge has impacted my faith journey by learning more about the Bible and trusting in God more than before. I can also talk to a leader about anything; they are there to help you through your faith and are willing to listen. They care about you.”

- Tiffanie

Confirmation

2 Year Process

Confirmation is a faith formation pathway within Refuge and Student Ministries at Community of Grace. Choosing to be confirmed is a personal decision that allows students to publicly proclaim their faith in Jesus and their desire to follow Him. Students can begin the two year confirmation process in high school starting in 9th grade and plan to be confirmed the fall of their 11th grade year.

For teens baptized as infants, confirmation affirms God’s promises made at baptism and their commitment to live a life of faith in Christ. For those new to church, confirmation provides the opportunity to explore faith, build relationships within the church, ask meaningful questions, and choose baptism. Through required experiences, students are guided toward a deeper, personal relationship with Jesus.
