Serve Here

Make a Difference

God is the source; we are the resource.

Our HERE ministries make disciples of Jesus by allowing them to take part in his mission here at CGLC. Whether it's serving children or students, playing in the band, welcoming people, or serving behind the scenes, there are plenty of important ways to serve and give right here!

If you are interested in serving, we want to know! No matter who you are or what your gifts are, there is a place for you to serve here.

Hospitality

Help us to see, love, and serve people as Jesus does from the moment they walk through our doors! Our hospitality teams serve as greeters at the front door, answer questions at the Orange Wall, or bake cookies and prepare coffee in the kitchen. These volunteers are vital to ensuring we live into our values every Sunday. Kids are welcome to serve alongside their parents in these roles. On average, hospitality teams serve one Sunday a month. It's a great way to meet new people in the congregation or for your small group to serve together!

Worship Arts

Do you have a musical gift? Use it to encourage God's people through worship! Our contemporary and traditional worship leaders welcome experienced instrumentalists and vocalists to join through a simple audition process.

We also incorporate a choir in our Traditional worship. A non-auditioned group, the choir meets for rehearsal on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm, September-May. Pick-up choirs are also offered periodically throughout the year with minimal rehearsals for those who can't commit to a weekly choir.

Tech Teams

Our tech teams work wonders behind the scenes, ensuring that we can be heard and seen as we seek to speak Jesus and teach people the way Jesus teaches. Whether it's working a soundboard, displaying graphics, dimming lights, or manning the simulcast cameras in our affectionately-named NORAD hub, there are always more buttons to be pushed! Previous experience is welcomed but not required, as hands-on training is provided. Teens are welcome!

Visitation

Our visitation teams ensure that we see and serve our senior population, especially those who are homebound. Volunteers are trained to offer communion, visit, and pray with those who may otherwise have limited time spent in community. On several yearly occasions, volunteers also gather to pack and distribute seasonally-inspired care packages.

Grace Kids Ministries

Service opportunities in Grace Kids vary by time of year and the intensity of volunteer roles. For those looking to serve on a monthly or weekly basis, Sunday School or Nursery are the best fit! Sunday School teachers and assistants serve an average of 3x a month September-May. Teachers serve classrooms in pairs  for greater flexibility. Nursery hosts serve an average of 1-2x a month.

For those looking for shorter-term service opportunities, events like our annual Easter Eggsperience and Vacation Bible School are great ways to get involved, and there are roles available for a variety of skill levels. Students as young as 6th grade are eligible to serve in many of our assistant-level roles.

All volunteers (age 18+) for drop-off style kids' programming are required to undergo a background screening process and are subject to the approval of the ministry director.

Refuge Student Ministries

Do you love working with teenagers? Does it bring your heart great joy to share the love of Jesus with young people? If you answered yes, consider volunteering with Refuge. We call it "Refuge" because it's exactly that - a safe place for teens to be themselves, discover the truths of their faith, and build lasting relationships.

Volunteer leaders commit to Wednesday night programming held from 6-8pm, September-May. There are also a variety of special events throughout the year, including over the summer, that volunteers can opt-in to chaperoning as their schedule allows.

All volunteers for Refuge programming and events are required to undergo a background screening process, including a driver's license check if applicable, and are subject to the approval of the ministry director.
