Reggie Morusma

Hello Community of Grace! I send my greetings, and I consider myself to be a member of your church! In Haiti my church name is actually “Grace Community Church!” Today we attended a special church service in Rincon, and I would like to explain the tradition to you. In Haitian churches they have a Harvest “mwason” celebration. The church will send out invitations to every church in the region, inviting them to bring a choir to sing and to bring offerings for the church. The offerings could be a goat, coconuts, money, fruit… whatever you have that is your source of living would be your offering to the church. When you bring the offering you are doing it cheerfully and full of the Holy Spirit! In Haiti, just imagine you are walking down the aisle joyfully singing with your goat! After the offerings are given, they take them and sell them by the church and the proceeds go to support the church! This celebration can last for 5 plus hours! Today when we were leaving they were preparing 2 huge pots of rice and beans to feed everyone in attendance. There were probably 100 people there today. There wasn’t enough room for everyone to sit inside the church!

Pastor Zamor welcoming our team and preaching the gospel!

Pastor Zamor asked our team to get up and sing a song- we chose to sing "Alleluia, Come Every Nation."
